Everbee vs eRank (2026): Which Etsy Tool Is Worth It?

Everbee vs eRank for Etsy POD sellers in 2026: current plans and prices, what each tool’s numbers really mean, who each suits, and a free workflow instead.

Everbee vs eRank comes down to what you’re trying to learn. eRank is a keyword and listing-optimization tool: it helps you choose tags and titles and track your rankings, with paid plans from $5.99 a month. Everbee is a product-research tool: it estimates what competing listings sell, with paid plans from $24.99 a month. Both have free plans.

For most print-on-demand sellers on a budget, eRank’s cheaper plans plus Etsy’s own free Marketplace Insights cover keyword work, and Everbee earns its price only if you research new niches every week. Below are the current plans (September 2026), what each tool’s numbers really mean, how POD sellers use them, and a free workflow if you’d rather not pay for either.

Key takeaways

  • eRank is best for keywords, tags and rank tracking, with paid plans from $5.99 to $29.99 a month.
  • Everbee is best for product research, estimating what listings sell, from $24.99 a month. It has a free plan but no free trial.
  • Both tools’ sales figures are estimates. Everbee calculates monthly sales as total sales divided by listing age.
  • Etsy’s free Marketplace Insights shows real search counts for the last 30 days, with 15 lookups a week.
  • If you publish a few designs a month, free plans plus Etsy’s own data are enough. Pay when research becomes a weekly habit.

The short answer

  • Pick eRank if your main job is writing titles and 13 tags, checking listings and tracking where you rank. It’s the cheaper tool and does keyword work well.
  • Pick Everbee if your main job is deciding what to make next. Its estimates of what competing listings sell, shown right inside Etsy search, make niche research fast.
  • Pick neither yet if you’re publishing fewer than ten listings a month. Etsy’s free tools and both free plans will cover you until research becomes a bottleneck.
  • Use both only if research is a big part of your week: Everbee to choose niches, eRank to write and track the listings.

Price is the first big difference. eRank’s Pro plan costs $9.99 a month; Everbee’s Growth plan costs $24.99. Over a year, that’s $94.99 against $299 on annual billing, a gap worth thinking about when a POD tee might earn you $8 to $9 in profit.

Everbee: strengths and weak spots

Everbee is built around one question: what’s selling? Its product analytics show, for each listing, estimated monthly sales and revenue, total sales, reviews, listing age, a visibility score and an estimated conversion rate. The Chrome extension puts those numbers on top of Etsy search results, so you can scan a niche without leaving the page. It also has keyword research with its own Keyword Score, a tag analyzer and a shop analyzer.

The free Hobby plan lets you try this with limited analytics, 10 keyword searches and 5 saved keywords. Growth ($24.99 a month, or $299 a year) unlocks unlimited keyword research, the tag analyzer, 100 AI actions a month and up to 1,000 saved keywords. Business ($69 a month) removes most limits. There’s no free trial at the time of writing.

Where it falls short for POD sellers: revenue estimates say nothing about margin. A bestselling $35 hoodie in a crowded niche may be a worse bet for you than a modest mug niche, once provider costs and Etsy’s fees come out. And product research pulls you toward what already sells, which is where copying starts. Use it to find demand, then make something clearly your own.

eRank: strengths and weak spots

eRank is a toolbox for the listing itself. Its keyword tool shows related phrases, competition and trend data, and covers Amazon, eBay and other marketplaces as well as Etsy. Listing audits flag weak titles and tags, the rank checker shows where a listing appears for a phrase, and competitor tracking watches other shops. It uses the Etsy API, and its browser extension works on Etsy, Printify, Shopify and Amazon pages.

The free plan is tight (5 keyword lookups and 5 audits a day). Basic ($5.99) raises that to 100 lookups and 50 audits a day; Pro ($9.99) to 200 of each, with 50 tracked competitors; Expert ($29.99) to 500 of each.

Where it falls short: the dashboard is dense, and it can take a few sessions to learn which reports matter. Its sales numbers for other shops are also estimates, and it’s less focused on product discovery than Everbee.

Estimated vs real data: what the numbers mean

Etsy doesn’t publish a full sales history for each listing, so research tools have to estimate it. Knowing how they do it changes how you read the numbers. Everbee’s help center describes its monthly sales as total sales divided by listing age, monthly revenue as price times monthly sales, and conversion rate as total sales divided by total views.

That averaging hides timing. Here’s an illustrative case: a Christmas sweatshirt listed 24 months ago with an estimated 1,200 total sales shows about 50 sales a month, even if most of those sales happened in two Decembers and it sells almost nothing in June. Always check a listing’s age and whether its niche is seasonal before you trust a monthly figure.

Etsy’s own tools measure; third-party tools estimate. Both help, as long as you know which is which.

Two sources give you real Etsy data, free:

  • Marketplace Insights. Etsy describes it as direct access to real Etsy search data. In Shop Manager → Stats, it shows how many searches and listings a keyword had in the last 30 days, plus related terms and trends. You get 15 lookups a week free, or unlimited with Etsy Plus ($10 a month).
  • Your own Stats. The search terms that brought shoppers to your listings are real data about your shop. Our guide to Etsy stats shows where to find them and how to act on them.

A good rule: use estimates for comparisons (is phrase A bigger than phrase B? Is this listing selling faster than that one?), and use Etsy’s real data before you commit design time.

How POD sellers actually use them

Research tools earn their keep on three jobs:

  1. Validating a niche before you design. Everbee is fastest here: scan the top listings for a phrase and see their estimated sales, prices and ages. Then confirm demand in Marketplace Insights.
  2. Writing the title and 13 tags. eRank shines: collect related long-tail phrases, check competition and fill every tag slot with a phrase buyers use. Our Etsy tags guide has a formula for all 13.
  3. Fixing listings that stall. eRank’s listing audit and rank checker show whether a listing is missing obvious phrases or simply isn’t ranking for them.

Here’s how that looks for one idea, with no numbers invented: say you’re considering gardening gifts for grandmothers. In Marketplace Insights, compare phrases like “grandma gardening shirt” and “gardening grandma sweatshirt” for searches versus listings. In eRank, gather related phrases (“gift for gardener grandma,” “plant nana shirt”). In Everbee, check whether the top sweatshirt listings are young or old, and what prices buyers accept. Then design three distinct variations for the phrase with the best balance of demand and competition.

Alternatives: Alura and Etsy’s own tools

Alura sits between the two. It’s Etsy-only, with a free plan and paid plans at $7.99, $14.99 and $29.99 a month, and combines product and keyword research with a listing optimizer, A/B tests on higher plans and Pinterest scheduling. If you want one tool that also nudges you through listing improvements, it’s worth a trial.

Etsy’s own tools are worth using too. Beyond Marketplace Insights and your Stats, the search visibility page in Shop Manager flags listing issues that can lower your placement, and some English-language shops can see suggested title rewrites there. None of this costs anything.

A free Etsy research workflow (30 minutes a week)

If you don’t want to pay for either tool yet, this routine covers most of what they do:

  1. Brainstorm ten phrases the way a buyer would type them: who it’s for, the occasion and the style (“retired teacher gardening sweatshirt”).
  2. Use Etsy’s search suggestions. Type each phrase slowly and note the autocomplete options.
  3. Check up to 15 phrases in Marketplace Insights. Favor steady searches with relatively few listings.
  4. Read page one of the results. Are the listings relevant? What prices do they charge? Are the photos weak enough that a good mockup would stand out?
  5. Use eRank’s free lookups (5 a day) for related phrases and competition.
  6. Mine your own Stats. Add search terms that already bring you visits into your tags.
  7. Log it. Keep a simple sheet of phrases, searches, listings and decisions, and pick one or two niches for the week.

Our Etsy keyword research guide walks through this method in more depth, and the Etsy SEO guide shows where each phrase belongs in your listing.

Frequently asked questions

Is eRank free?
eRank has a free plan with 5 keyword lookups and 5 listing audits a day, one tracked competitor and one connected shop of up to 50 listings. Paid plans start at $5.99 a month at the time of writing.
How accurate are Everbee’s sales numbers?
They’re estimates. Everbee’s help center describes monthly sales as total sales divided by listing age, and monthly revenue as price times monthly sales, so seasonal spikes get averaged out. Use them to compare listings, not as exact figures.
Does Everbee have a free trial?
Not at the time of writing. Instead, Everbee has a free Hobby plan with limited product analytics and 10 keyword searches, so you can try the Chrome extension before paying for Growth ($24.99 a month) or Business ($69).
Can Everbee or eRank show Etsy’s real search volume?
Treat their keyword numbers as estimates, since neither tool is Etsy. For real counts, Etsy’s own Marketplace Insights shows searches and listings for the last 30 days, with 15 free keyword lookups a week.
Is Alura better than eRank?
They overlap. Alura combines research with a listing optimizer and A/B tests on higher plans ($7.99–$29.99 a month), while eRank is stronger on keyword lookups and rank tracking for less money. Try both free plans with the same five keywords and compare.
