Prodigi Review 2026: Premium Wall Art Print-on-Demand (UK)

Prodigi is a UK-based print-on-demand company best known for gallery-quality wall art: giclée prints on fine art papers, handmade frames and canvas. It’s free to use and connects to Etsy, Shopify and other stores for automatic order fulfillment. The big limitation for Etsy sellers: Prodigi doesn’t create your listings, so it suits sellers who treat wall art as a craft rather than a volume game.

This Prodigi review explains how its lab network works, what it makes best, how the Etsy integration really works, what Prodigi Pro costs and when it pays, plus production times, print-file rules and returns. Details are from Prodigi’s own site as of September 2026.

What Prodigi is, and where it prints

Prodigi is domiciled in the UK, with offices and in-house production facilities in the UK, the US and the Netherlands. Its labs include Alton in Hampshire, Charlotte in North Carolina and Venlo in the Netherlands. It also works with more than 70 manufacturing partners in over 10 countries, a hybrid model it uses to print close to your customers. If you’ve seen the names Pwinty or Kite, they’re part of the same group: Prodigi acquired both and is folding everything into the Prodigi brand, and it bought the Amsterdam cloud-printing company Peecho in December 2023.

Every order is routed to the facility closest to the delivery address that can make the product. Prodigi calls its most widely available items “global products”: they’re made across the whole network to the same standard, wherever your buyer lives. Packaging is white-label, so buyers see your shop, not Prodigi. Prodigi is also a Fine Art Trade Guild approved printer, which matters if you sell limited editions or photography.

Products: fine art, frames and canvas first

Prodigi advertises more than 500,000 customizable products, but wall art is the reason to choose it. Here’s what stands out for Etsy sellers.

The best way to judge this range is to hold it. Prodigi sells sample packs of its papers, frames and float frames, and publishes the digital files used to print the paper samples so you can compare your screen with the real thing.

How ordering works: Etsy, Shopify and the API

Prodigi connects to Etsy, Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce and TikTok for automatic order fulfillment. You can also order through its manual order form, a CSV importer or its Print API.

The Etsy workflow is different from Printify or Gelato, so read it before you plan your shop:

1. Create the listing on Etsy. Write the title, tags and description, add mockups and set up shipping profiles in Etsy yourself.
2. Connect your shop under Sales channels in the Prodigi dashboard. Prodigi imports your listings, which usually takes a few minutes, and emails you when it’s done.
3. Configure each listing. Switch on automatic fulfillment, pick the Prodigi product and attach your artwork. You can also leave the image blank on personalized products and add it when the order arrives.
4. Choose a shipping service per product: Budget, Standard or Express. Etsy orders go by Standard unless you change it.

Prodigi’s Etsy FAQ confirms the two gaps at the time of writing: it can’t create Etsy listings or Etsy shipping profiles for you. One more trap: if you edit or replace a listing on Etsy, Prodigi may import it as a new product, so switch off the old version and reconfigure the new one or orders won’t be fulfilled.

How much does Prodigi cost?

The core platform is free: no setup fees and no mandatory subscription. You pay for each order (product plus shipping, excluding VAT) when it goes to production, by card or PayPal. Prices sit behind a free account, where a pricing tool lets you download price sheets by product and destination, including the “+1” cost of each extra item in an order. Orders made abroad are billed in the lab’s local currency and converted into your currency at the moment you order.

When does Prodigi Pro pay? Because the discount is a flat percentage, the break-even is easy: divide the fee by the discount. At £35 a month and 15% off, you need about £233 of Prodigi product spend a month before Pro pays for itself (about £267 on monthly billing). For apparel at 10% off, it’s £350. In dollars, that’s roughly $313 a month of product spend on the annual plan. Most side-hustle shops should start free and upgrade only when their monthly Prodigi bill is consistently above that line.

Quality, production times and shipping

Prodigi publishes production targets for its most popular global products, which is more transparency than most providers offer:

Most Prodigi products are dispatched within 1–4 days, and bestselling global wall art usually leaves the lab within 24–48 hours. Shipping comes in three tiers: Budget (slower and usually untracked, except that all US orders are tracked), Standard (tracked or untracked depending on destination) and Express (a tracked courier service). For expensive framed pieces, pay for tracking; a lost $90 frame costs more than the upgrade.

On quality, Prodigi color-proofs test prints across its network, and its in-house labs give it direct control over its core wall art. Still, order a sample of every paper and frame combination you plan to sell, and view it in daylight next to your screen.

Preparing print files for Prodigi

• Resolution: 300 DPI is ideal for fine art and framed prints. Canvas can work at a lower resolution; each product page lists its requirement.
• Bleed: photo prints typically need about 3 mm of bleed. The Print API can add it for you, and Prodigi’s product templates show how much of your image is trimmed.
• Formats: high-quality JPG, PNG or PDF. Prodigi respects transparency in PNG files, which matters for apparel.
• Sizes and ratios: set up artwork at the largest size you’ll sell and let Prodigi scale down. Keep ratios consistent across a size family; our poster print sizes guide lists the pixel dimensions.
• Keep your masters: Prodigi deletes images about two weeks after an order is fulfilled, so store your full-resolution files yourself.

Returns, cancellations and EU rules

Prodigi doesn’t accept returns of unwanted items and has no return address you can set. Because print-on-demand products are made to order, they fall under the custom-made exemption in UK consumer rules. If a product arrives damaged or incorrect because of Prodigi’s error, it handles the return and refund at its own expense; if a buyer changes their mind, the refund is your cost. Orders can be canceled for a full refund before production, which is another reason to set a pause window.

Wrong addresses are on you too: if a parcel comes back, Prodigi reships at your cost.
